Charging
Containment
when charging potent compounds to reactors, mills and
IBC's potent compound is a common issue; ACE have
extensive experience in providing many such solutions
in the low nanogram /m³ containment range.
Working alongside end users and consultants ACE have
developed a simple cost effective ergonomically designed
negative pressure unit, for charging from ported bags,
along with the more familiar designs which incorporate
multi-chamber units and drum tipping devices. |

CHARGING CONTAINMENT SYSTEM
A single chamber Isolator with a
Locally Controlled Environment (LCE) system consisting
of a remote exhaust fan, HEPA filters locally on inlet
and chamber exhaust, HEPA filters in the Air handling
unit. The unit is fabricated from C22 Hastelloy, with
the trolley and fan box out of 316 stainless steel. The
fabrication is fully welded crack and crevice free to
provide a smooth internal finish.
The device is designed specifically for the charging of
material into a reactor through the charge chute in the
base, the unit is designed to work under
negative pressure. The main chamber is furnished with a
vision panel complete with glove ports. The rear of the
chamber also contains a vision panel to provide
additional illumination inside the chamber.

FLOOR MOUNTED CHARGE STATION
The floor mounted charging station
is designed to provide localised containment during the
charging of materials from drums to a vessel on the
floor below. The assembly consists of a LAF hood with
integral drum lifter to allow a drum of up to 100kg to
be lifted & tilted for charging. The unit has been
designed in such a way to operate pneumatically with no
electrical equipment, thereby suitable for a hazardous
environment. Air is exhausted from the charge booth into
the extraction system. |

HATCH MOUNTED CHARGE STATION
The Hatch Mounted Charging Station
has been designed to provide localised containment
during the charging of materials from drums to a vessel
on the floor below. The assembly consists of a LAF hood
with integral drum lifter to allow a drum up to 70kg to
be lifted & tilted for charging. The unit is designed in
such a way to operate pneumatically with no electrical
equipment, thereby suitable for a hazardous environment.

REACTOR CHARGING
Isolator
The Reactor Charging Isolator is a single chamber device
fixed in place via spool piece connection to the reactor
charging nozzle.
The charging Isolator has a Locally Controlled
Environment (LCE) consisting of a HEPA filtered Nitrogen
inlet and exhaust. Extraction from the Isolator is
achieved by the buildings main extract system connected
to the exhaust port of the Isolator.
The Isolator is fabricated from 316L stainless steel,
which is fully welded, crack and crevice free, then
polished inside and out to give a smooth finish. The
unit is mounted on a hollow section support frame.
This Isolator functions under negative pressure and was
designed specifically for charging a reactor with
product. The reactor is charged via a dispensing chute
in the base of the Isolator.
The device is also furnished with a Rapid Transfer Port
to the side of the Isolator for the transfer of
material, maintenance and cleaning equipment.
