Containment by Air Movement
With its open-fronted design, this
type of system provides ease of access for both operator
and material. It is ideal where a high degree of
flexibility is desired.
Containment is achieved by air movement. Our Downflow
booths and workstations are available in a variety of
air-handling models.
When the Booth is operating under normal conditions air
is pulled through the main working chamber to exhaust
grills, normally situated in the rear of the Booths,
suppressing air-borne dust away from the operators
breathing zone.
Downflow Booths and Workstations provide a safe,
controlled working environment and are called upon to
carry out a wide range of operations. |

BOOTH SUITE
The process requirement was to
provide independently operated Downflow type Booths to
carry out various small scale pharmaceutical operations
within a controlled space.
A Suite of Downflow work Booths for the Pharmacy Lab,
Comprising: -

3 No. 1.5m Work Booths |
|
■ |
2 No. 2.0m Work Booths |
These are self-contained walk -in
type ventilated enclosures, purpose designed for the
weighing of powder materials.
The Booths incorporate
an in-built multi-stage filtration and fan system
operating on a recirculatory airflow arrangement.
The booth arrangements were designed to fit between the
existing walls of a lab and are located against the rear
facility wall. |

WEIGH BOOTH
This self contained walk -in type
ventilated enclosure, was purpose designed for the
weighing of powder materials.
The Booth incorporates
an in-built multi-stage filtration and fan system
operating on a recirculatory airflow arrangement.
The Downflow Booth is fitted with the following controls
and instrumentation.

Pre-Filter Condition |
The Downflow Booth was designed to
operate at a negative pressure to the surrounding
environment providing class 100 (Laminar) airflow
conditions within the working chamber. |

LAF BOOTH
The
station consists of a three-sided enclosure and a
top. The operator works through the open front of the
station.
This is one example of a number of stand-alone laminar
airflow Stations purposely designed for use during the
opening and manipulation of sparkler filter's.
The project called for multiple items of equipment to
provide containment systems and solutions in several
areas, within a pharmaceutical plant including: -

4 No. Sparkler Stations |
Each Sparkler station is a
self-contained arrangement with the extracted air ducted
away via the clients extract system. The airflow
arrangement is a 'single pass' arrangement. The
extract-air system pulls air from the room and
horizontally across the area of operation. The air is
extracted through perforations in the exhaust panels at
the rear of the Station and into the clients exhaust
duct.
An option for the extracted air to be HEPA filtered from
the station and returned to the room environment is an
option which could easily be integrated into this design
