Filling Lines

We have extensive experience of applying the principles of barrier containment to a wide range of secondary manufacturing processes, such as, Powder and Liquid Filling Lines for vials, syringes, ampoules and other similar containers.

Apart from the extra protection it provides for those working on the line, a barrier containment system can significantly reduce the control space required for the filling operation and virtually eliminate the need for operators to "gown-up".

POWDER FILLING CONTAINMENT SYSTEM

A Multi compartmented Isolator system fabricated from 316L stainless steel fully welded crack and crevice free to give a smooth internal finish.

The Isolator has a Locally Controlled Environment (LCE) system consisting of several fans, pneumatic valves and supply and return HEPA filters. The whole filling line is designed specifically for the packaging of Cephalosporin powder under sterile conditions. A conveyor and turntable installation is provided within the Isolator to convey product through various stages of the process.

Sterilisation of the filling line is carried out by Vaporised Hydrogen Peroxide (VHP) using an AMSCO VHP gas generator unit.

The whole Isolator system is designed to operate at a positive pressure (+40pa to + 75pa) and the inside of the Isolator is made inert using nitrogen gas. The sterilisation and environmental conditions are controlled by a PLC system.

LIVE VIRUS FREEZE DRIED FILLING LINE

This filling line was designed specifically for use with a live virus vaccine as a contained operating environment working under a positive pressure with HEPA filter on inlet and exhaust.

The device is fitted with two 200 Ø RTP's, one on the upper chamber wall for liquid or material transfers and one on the lower chamber wall of the Isolator for the mobile manufacturing vessel connection.

 

The Filling Line is a multi chamber Isolator with a Locally Controlled Environment (LCE). It has an on-board air-handling system incorporating HEPA filters on inlet and exhaust air; the cabinet and support structure is constructed from 316L Stainless steel.

The Isolator complex consists of 4 No. separate Isolator modules close coupled together :

The Blending Module accompanies the Filling Line and is a single chamber glove box with Locally Controlled Environment (LCE).

The systems have in-built HEPA filters on inlet and exhaust air, with cabinet and support structure constructed from 316L Stainless steel.
